Here is a very helpful explanation of Georgia DOC regulations that we recently received from one of their staff:

The Georgia Department of Corrections currently has 6 sites with restricted vegan kitchens and we are in the process of adding two more. It is not unusual for an inmate to request to be removed from the Alternative Entree Meal Program. Reasons vary. Also, The Georgia Department of Corrections does not serve pork.
